A crate is a commonly used and perfectly effective way to train a puppy. Still, with Sep, I consciously chose to try it without one. Not because I am against crates, but because I was curious if it could be done differently. My approach was simple: if it didn't work out, I could always introduce a crate at a later time. That ultimately turned out not to be necessary, and I am very happy that I chose to do it without a crate.

Het verhaal achter VerdaDog

As a child, I grew up with Luuk, a very sweet Labrador. At some point, he started experiencing more and more physical problems: itching, red skin, dandruff, and obesity. Even then, I wished things could be different.

Years later, I adopted a dog myself: Sep, my Golden Retriever. From that moment on, it became my mission to help him live as long and healthy as possible, and to prevent as many of the issues I saw Luuk develop.

I myself have been eating a fully plant-based diet for over 10 years and experience the benefits daily. I wanted Sep to also enjoy that experience. This is how VerdaDog came to be: from the simple desire to do the best for my own dog.
